Rob Peña is an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at the University of Washington. Teaching and architectural practice have been the means of cultivating and applying the concepts of climate responsive ecological design to the design studio, to courses in environmental systems for buildings, and to professional practice with an emphasis on ecological design and high-performance buildings.

In partnership with the UW Center for Integrated Design, Rob works regionally with design teams on the development of high performance and net-zero energy buildings. Since inception of the Bullitt Center, Rob has worked with the Bullitt Foundation, the Miller Hull Partnership, and Schuchart Construction, on the design and development of this groundbreaking high performance building.
